Engineering Technician

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a multi-skilled Engineering Technician within our Product Development Engineering team to help support our Home Furniture business.  Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry.  We do not make furniture.  We make furniture more comfortable.  We need the best people on our team to support our strategy, and your work will ensure people around the world have a little more comfort in their lives.


As an Engineering Technician, you will work alongside engineers and other technical staff to help design, build, and test new products.  This fast-paced, hands-on position allows you to work across various stages of product development. We value growth mindset in our team members. This role provides opportunities to work on innovative products with an industry leader in home furnishings.  As a valued member of the engineering team, you will directly impact new product development from concept to commercialization.


So, what will you be doing as an Engineering Technician?



  • Assist engineers with CAD, prototypes, design documentation

  • Produce prototypes/samples and perform quality checks

  • Support product testing by preparing test equipment

  • Collect, record, and report technical validation data

  • Accurately convey critical product specifications and results

  • Help troubleshoot problems and critically analyze test results


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:



  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology/related field

  • 1+ years experience as a technician in a manufacturing setting

  • Hands-on mechanical/electrical fabrication skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

  • Eager to take ownership and see processes through to completion
