This position is for a Red Hat Linux Administrator with a company at Stennis Space Center, MS.

The Red Hat Linux SME will advance the capabilities of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) or/and The Naval Oceanography Operations Command (NOOC) by providing maintenance support for operational systems.  NAVOCEANO and NOOC are located at NASA’s Stennis Space Center and the work would be performed in primarily NAVOCEANO/NOOC’s spaces.  The Red Hat Linux SME will be responsible for the proper function of operating systems and software hosted on government networks.  The Red Hat Linux SME will perform hardware and software administrative functions to hosted virtual datacenters.

Duties and Responsibilities: User password changes. Establishment of user accounts. System trouble shooting and resolution. System Administration and Cybersecurity Documentation. Perform cybersecurity analysis following DoD, DoN, and NAVOCEANO policies, processes and guidelines. The contractor shall be responsible for performing workstation computer operating system loads and configuration. The contractor shall be responsible for application installations.  Assists users with IT issues submitted through help desk. The contractor shall perform system administration duties to include operating system installation, patching, upgrades for Red Hat Enterprise Linux workstations and servers. The contractor shall perform installation of approved software on Red Hat Enterprise Linux workstations and servers.The contractor shall conduct system administration tasks following DoD, DoN, and NAVOCEANO policies, processes and guidelines.

Education and Experience: Desired Qualifications: Experience administering infrastructure on Red Hat Linux system including items in Job Duties. Experience with RHEL with Smart Management. Familiarity with DISA STIG checklists. Interaction with VMWare products (VSphere, ESXi) to perform basic administration of systems. Build reports with Microsoft Office Suite. Required Skills: Strong communication skills. Active Secret Clearance with T5 (formerly known as SSBI) investigation. Required Experience: Security+ CE Certification (or comparable certification). Training in and experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8.
