Job Description: This is a job for a Specialist II, Technical Materials position with a company located in Starkville.


Job Summary: This is a job for a Specialist II, Technical Materials position with a company located in Starkville. The primary responsibility of the Technical Materials Specialist II is to provide materials management support to MTO manufacturing facilities. The individual will represent the interests of MTO manufacturing facilities while working with Product Management and Logistics in the supply phase of the SIOP process to ensure the best use of Southwire’s manufacturing assets, production plan attainment and on-time delivery. The individual will help drive Date Driven initiatives in MTO Manufacturing and adoption of improved production planning tools. Technical Materials Specialist II  will support the ONE Southwire approach to drive the Company’s overall strategy and goals.


Duties and Responsibilities: SPC for priority and project order scheduling. Lead in MTO SIOP process through capacity planning. Administer Date Driven initiatives in MTO manufacturing. Leads materials management support functions to MTO plants to achieve plant OTIF, WIP reduction, and other       metrics. Develops D & I standard work instructions and provides training plans for all MTO Materials Management roles. Assist plants on Date Driven scheduling as directed by the ODI project. Manages order entry accuracy, working with PM/Sales for All MTO locations. Utilize tools like IBP to visualize and manage loadings by machine/work center/ Capacity groups and use data to drive LTs. Industrial resource to help manage intercompany strand shipments – Ensures we shipping to correct locations/using strand for most profitable/strategic products. Conducts OTIF pareto analysis translated to actions plants to improve customer service. Education, Experience, and Skills.


Qualifications and Education: Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's. Specialized Degree: Engineering or Logistics. Certificates: Years of Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Field of Expertise: core software applications, including SAP and Advaris is preferred.
